As the founder of Douglas Park Academy, I started my first child care center in 2014. Since then I have always loved the idea of introducing education and independence at a young age. Watching children bloom into confident and strong “big kids” is truly the best feeling.

I believe that if children start off with a strong core of education and skills, this will continue with them in their education journey and beyond.

All parents have a common goal, to guide and nurture their children and strengthen their community. This is our goal too.

Background:

I joined the Early Years sector in 2010 after receiving my FETAC Level 6 Supervision in Childcare Advanced Diploma with Ballinode Community College in Sligo, Ireland.

After discovering my love for the Montessori Approach, I completed my Advanced Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education with Montessori Pedagogy in 2013 with Portobello Institute, Ireland and have been working as a Montessori Teacher since then.

Why are you a teacher?

I love engaging with children and teaching them.

I love being part of their learning journeys; helping them to build the life skills that they will need in school, instilling them with a healthy sense of self worth and confidence, supporting their academic, social, and personal development and inspiring them to become all round happy, confident, competent learners.
